Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems.

We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best!

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets’ complete health care needs.

Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. For more complicated cases, eg hip replacements, complicated fractures, etc, Dr Tom Smith, a registered specialist surgeon can operate here in the comfort of our surgery. See him at http://www.tssvet.com.au/ we can offer a referral to one of several specialist surgical practices in Brisbane or Gatton University.

Rehabilitation services: such as laser therapy.  Laser therapy has been shown to improve wound healing and offer pain relief in a natural drug free way. See our page Laser Therapy and Rehabilitation

Mobile Vet: Sometimes it is easiest or best for your pet to be seen in the comfort of their own home. We are able to do house calls for all routine or non-routine medical services. While there is an extra charge for this service, it can be the less stressful for pet and owner. We do ask that house calls to be arranged as far in advance as possible.

Anaesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. All animals under anaesthesia are placed on intravenous fluids to maintain their blood pressure. Using the most modern equipment (Doppler ultrasound, pulse oximeters and respiratory monitors), the patient’s vital signs are constantly monitored during all anaesthetic procedures.

Radiology Services: Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We also utilise ultrasound to improve our ability to diagnose internal conditions in not just dogs and cats, but also in birds, reptiles and small mammals.

Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, haematology, serology, urinalysis, and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: We can insert a microchip into your dog, cat, bird or reptile for permanent identification.

Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets for patients with special dietary needs.

Individualised Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We only stock premium pet foods and are happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs.

Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Emergency Care: We utilise the University of Queensland vet clinic at Gatton on 54601788 or REDVETS Tooowoomba on 46020652 as they are fully staffed 24/7.
