West Toowoomba Vet Surgery and your Privacy
As a necessary part of our business, our records include information about you and your pets.
The West Toowoomba Vet Surgery recognizes the importance of protecting the personal privacy of our clients, our patients and those individuals who simply visit our site. Our policy regarding your privacy is simple:
- At no time is any information given out about a client or a pet to anyone without the verbal or written consent of that client.
- We do not give out any information to any vendors or internet businesses. No information will ever be disclosed to outside parties from us or our web site hosting company at (us).
It’s that simple! And we strictly adhere to this policy.
In recent times we have been approached by other businesses requesting information about a client or a pet. Many time some of the information requested by these businesses is not relevant to their requirements – it is simply a marketing ploy to attract new customers. For example, a grooming business or boarding kennel may need to know your pet’s vaccination status, but they do not need to know the exact date it was vaccinated, or other irrelevant information. We will not release any information to these businesses without your permission, and this additional detail will NOT be given to these businesses unless you specifically request it.
Requests for the provision of medical records or other information must be made in writing or in person. Such requests must detail exactly what information is needed. If our staff have any doubts to the veracity of a faxed request, they will contact you personally before providing any information. (We have had several ‘suspicious’ faxes, including one signed by the pet!)
We realise that in some cases this may result in some slight inconvenience to our clients, and we apologise for that. But we respect and guard your privacy and will do nothing to undermine the trust you have placed in us.
